This week my class room 1 and room 2 and room 7 got to go to beach ed we had these lovely 4 people come and  teach us about beach ed and tell us about what the rules were and explained some stuff about things like boggy boards and how they rescue people they also told us about what they used this big boat for their names were Annie,Gem, Ben and one more girl but I forgot her name. We learned about what was in the first aid kit and we also got to do some games inside like Simon says but on the beach the way it goes like slip slap wrap and cover it was actually really fun. then we also got to do challenges outside one was who can build the biggest mountain my team won that round then we had to build the deepest hole that was the best but the other team won I think. then we had to build sand castles that were actually really fun. Then it was time for the best part it was WATER TIME we got to go on boggy boards and we got to do challenges in the water it was fun.

have you been to beach ed before?

This week we had to make a slide show about politicians we had to choose a party National,Labour,Green,Maori/Patti,NZF,Act,TMP,LAB, and some other party groups Me an my buddy Kiara chose National. We had a little bit of choices of what we wanted to do our DLO on (digital learning object)  we had the choices to do it on a google drawing or a slide show or a google docs.  I chose to do it on Google slides because it would give us more space to put more words in pictures. We also got to choose another group but it didn’t have to be a politician it could be a different person who you think is a leader.

Today for writing we were making short sentences. We had 3 words that were related to dance that we had to choose. To put into a sentence the words were ( Shimmied Swayed Jived ) we were practising. Using punctuation and learning what compound sentences are and what complex sentences are. I used the word shimmied.

Last week we had these 2 mans teaching us how to do tricks with sticks they told us making the sticks were easy that all we needed was a broom break the tip of a tape it it was really easy our first activity was to get a stick and to spin it around clockwise or anticlockwise it was kinda easy after doing that a couple times we moved on to doing it above our heads everyone started dropping the sticks but not many people got hurt our next activity was to balance the stick on our arm we had to put the stick under our arm like were scooping up ice cream then bring it all the way up and leave it on your arm then we added more tricks to the dance I kinda found it easy but nailed it after trying and trying.After practising we went for a play because it was already lunch time after playing the 2 men did us a show at eating time they had the sicks and light them on fire and started doing really dangerous,cool interesting tricks they also touched the fire but said it was some kind of fire that doesn’t  burn you.I really enjoyed having them because they taught us really cool tricks to do and they did some shows for us.

On the 3/8/2023 we went for a little trip to catholic cathedral college because they had invited us to there (show-play) the show went until after morning tea to 3 something but we did get to have little breaks in between the show the show had lots of songs and lots of bad languages but the show-play was still fun to watch.it was about a boy playing for the band and the band kicks him out he also lives with his best friend and his best friends girlfriend doesn’t like him because he doesn’t pay for rent you might find the show-play on you tube and then you’ll get to know what happen. the thing i liked about the show was seeing people getting to watch the show listen to the creative songs.

Today we were so lucky that we got to meet 4 Rugby players from the Canterbury team There names were Billy Harman,Rameka Poihipi,Sars Flood,Brook Toomatata. Billy Harman and Sars Flood went to New Brighton catholic school when they were little also they played for the new Brighton rugby club.The most best part was getting to know them and getting to ask them Question’s most of them were inspired by there dads.My favourite sport is touch nettbal and other sports those are my favourite sport s because they have lots of move ment and teamwork.

This term for the arts we looked at dances from all over the world.I then chose to do a Samoan dance  to learn.I learn´t this Samoan dance

with 2 people from my class Kiara and Cataleya I liked learning the dance with them because the dance had fun also funny actions to do I

liked learning the actions and learning different parts of the dance . I was most happy that I got to learn the Siva and I found learning the

dance and remembering the actions and getting the actions right difficult   . The  challenging part was when I got mixed up with my left and

right and  We were defiantly one of the quietest group.but  Dancing is not my thing so i think that´s why i wasn’t so good in doing the Siva

but i still enjoyed doing the Siva.The part i least enjoyed was doing some of the actions because some of the actions i kinda got annoyed with.

The part i found boring was when we had to restart and restart the video but i like how i explained a little blob about my self and how i said where i’m from and how i had lots of cool images.

This week we were learning about old testament story’s i choose to learn about Moses and the red sea our first task was to search up facts

about the old testament story’s we were learning about then we had to retell the story in our own words next we had to do a animation about the story if we wanted to but i didn’t want to do a animation because the animations are a bit to hard and long to do so i only told facts about Moses and the red sea and i also only said what happen in the story in my own words the part i mostly enjoyed was getting to learn about Moses and the red sea and getting to see what happen in Moses and the red sea. The part I least enjoyed was having to fine facts about  Moses and the red sea because it was kind of hard to find the facts about Moses and the red sea and not all of the facts were on google. The part that i found difficult was just retelling the story in my own words but i still enjoyed learning about Moses and the red sea the part that was very easy was creating my cover for Moses and the red sea.

 FUN RUN/RUN THE GAUNTLET

on Thursday the 8th (yesterday) we did a fun run a fun run is how you do fun stuff but it includes ruining but its still fun first my class did

the run the gauntlet  as we ran through the gauntlet we had to throw the mini bean bag into this huge metal bucket i missed a couple shots

and stayed until i got it in when i got it in i kept running and followed the cones their was cones that lead us throw the track so we know what

we were doing as i kept running beyond the cones  their was the parents we needed parents or kids to throw the

yellow and black bounce balls at us i ran through the parents as they threw balls at us  i dodge  a couple of the balls and kept running after

the parents throwing the balls at us we kept running the next task was to throw a Frisbee into the metal basket with chains on it but it had

one leg holding it up after a couple try’s of trying to throw the Frisbee    in i got it then i kept running next we had to grab these circle pads

and throw them into these hoops it was actually really easy i didn’t really need to try again and again the we had to keep running next we had

to get the skipping  ropes  and skip 20 times after that we kept running i tripped  in a hole and hurt my ankle but kept running every time

you pass the teacher you get a point for me i thought the gauntlet was like 2 km i managed to do the gauntlet 5 time.

THE OBSTACLE COURSE

out next activity was the obstacle course out first task was to dodge the poles there was 5 poles and they were easy to dodge  next we kept on

running through the track their was hay bails we had to jump over some people did flips over the hay bails but ended up landing on the

ground i just climbed up the hay bails then jumped we kept running the next task was to keep dodging more poles then we had to go on the

balancing bean  and balance on it  i thought the balancing bean would be really easy but it was really hard after the balancing bean we got to

jump on this big blue pad  i did some flips on it because it was really fun next we had to jump over these sticks on cones it was like high jump

but we could jump normally and they wouldn’t move the sticks higher we kept doing the same thing over and over i managed to do the

obstacle course 6 times

CROSS COUNTRY RUN

now we had to do the  cross country run that was my least favourite because we had to do the Junior course 3 times the first round of

running i stayed with the group and kept my paste without stopping then on the second round of running i got puffed and stopped for a bit

and i left my 2 friends in the lead i tried to keep up with them but i got a big stitch so in the third round i kept my paste and jogged because

no-one was near me i encouraged people to keep running as i ran passed them. i was close to the end but still had a stitch as i got into the

finish line i was so surprised i came 3rd but didn’t mind because i know it was about having fun so i still enjoyed the run while we finished

our run me and my friend decided to chair people on in the race.

THE SCAVENGER HUNT

our last activity was to find all the balls we were in our house groups i was in Aquinas the yellow team.i only found 2 ball we got told that

there was 2 golden balls the 2 golden balls were worth 10 points but the normal points were worth 1 point the balls were hidden in really

hard spaces i found one in a hole and another one on the ground under leafs only one person found the gold ball the last golden ball was

hidden really good that no-one found it some people thought that someone took the last golden ball we had a boundary where we couldn’t go

it was beyond the cones some of the balls were in bush’s trees or in the cones or under leafs some were hidden in holes.

1. on the first day we got to Arthur’s pass we had to go inside because it was raining our teacher told us where our room was and who will be in our group i had all my friends in my group .there names are Cataleya,Despina,Kiara,Brenna,including me we were in room 4 we had to unpack our stuff .first after we did all that stuff we met Alex the guy who owned the cabin so he checked if we had all the stuff we needed but some of us didn’t have the stuff we needed so he writ it   on a piece of paper and called us up to get what we need .and then we had to put it on and go back to the kitchen and wait then Alex told us where we were gonna go we went to the devil punch pull . and saw the huge water-full the most tiring thing of the hike was the steps there were loads of steps we had to walk up and walk down ALTO but when we got to the end of the hike we were all like finally but then there were more steps .and we were soaking wet
