On Tuesday this week I made it in for zones because I came first for high jump and 2nd for shot put in athletics so on Tuesday we went to new Brighton Olympics field. For zones when we got there there were a lot of schools and kids there I saw some people I knew from netball and softball. It was very fun at Zones but also  everyone was very competitive i also had relays to do with my friends for zones. But relays were the last first I had to do a high jump then shot put then relays. When I did High jump I did not jump over the pole I got out on the first round and I was a bit dramatic and kinda cried but. I was alright I had shot put and I think I’m actually good at it and I got above 5 meters that was good. I didn’t make it into Canterbury for anything but that was OK we still came 3rd for relays My friend Isa brought her baby chick it was really cute. And the baby chick was our mascot. I got to hold the baby chick a couple times it was really fun. My student teacher Miss Keeley  came along Miss Keeley was very fun to have at zones she would cheer me up and she was very kind And funny.

This Thursday we went to Alice in putter land mini golf it was so much fun we had cards that we had to write how much times we hit the ball the goal of the game was to get the least amounts of hits.I was the girl that got the least in my whole class.I got 57 but I still think I got a lot and the boy that got the least was Beau he got 39.We went to Alice in Putter land because it was our class reward when we got there. Everyone was surprised because they added tattoos on Alice and put them in like really thick white shoes but I think their version of Alice in putter land is the best.But best of all they had a glow in the dark golf area where the golf balls would glow at the end we got free lollipops.

On  the 14th of September we had an art show at our school We had to  create lots of art Other classes did the same thing but my class. Did a digital landscape and then our teacher had to print them out then we drew a landscape with pencil and then used paint to colour it in.We used the colours Yellow,Blue,and White to make different colours.

Then we got to draw our names in graffiti style,and also got to make a resilience project some people did a digital one and got it printed out and some people drew a picture that relates to resilience . Like Never back down Never give up or Just Never give up.and then we did a mural about New Brighton, what things are in New Brighton we could do a digital one or draw one I drew one.

After we finish doing all our art we had a show on the 14th September on Thursday we had lots of kids and parents come into each class and see our art projects.we also had QR codes that were connected to a video of us talking about what we did for our art.as we got though each class we had to get this piece of paper signed by the teacher each class had very different art but were also very cool.

At the end we went to church to talk about why we did the art show but we also had 2 very important people come to our school called Katie and Marry,Katie was a student at our school sense 2001 to 2008 and Marry was a really good Basketball player. Then we had a draw in a basket where they will call out a name and they would get a prize.

 

Today (7/9/23) we had 3 very important people come to our school Their names are Carla and 2 Lovely men from the votary.Carla is a hair style that owns a lot of  salons she came over and told us what she did for a living and told us what she does at her work she, said that first they have to practice on a dolly head.She said they learn by cutting really long hair or doing hair styles and then they start with  Medellin then short.once most of the hair is gone she said they do patterns on the dolly head. We also got to ask her some Question.The best part of all was getting to meat Carla she was a really interesting,nice,beautiful lady she told us that she started hair styling at the age 16.We also got to keep some Duffy books everybody got 2 books ever my books were 2 graphics named Drama and Squished.

have you ever had important people come to your school?

Last week we were doing a Monolog. Where we had to pick a sheet of what we wanted to read. The options were (Humpty,Protecto,little Sailfish,Harry,Alice in wonder land.Princess,wish list ABC order,How to make friends with a snail.Time to go Ruffes,Huckle berry.) There was lots of parts to do  but I chose to do Little Sailfish.

Th thing I enjoyed about reading my part was reading Fluency and just getting to
have the time to read the thing I found challenging was reading because I
did struggle a lot .While reading but I still enjoyed reading because reading is one of my favourite subjects.

Once we had finished reading we would get a chance to read in different places we could read in the cloak bay or we got a chance to read in this reading area that had lots of books in it we got to practise reading first tho some people got to read in the domain or in the playground also in the courts.

today we got to choose our country were from and do research on it or you could choose a different country to do research on. I´m Samoan and Tongan but my friends have already done Samoa and no-one did Tonga so i did Tonga.we had to research our country on the world map i did not really  know what the world map was so i researched my country on google .the best thing i found about researching my country was getting to know new things about my country.and the thing i mostly enjoyed was researching my country on google and the part i found challenging was drawing my country flag and  having to copy and paste the answers the bit i got stuck on was finding the answers  because the answers were mixed up with other words. this week we have been learning about Kiwiana Kiwiwana is a range of  quirky objects . like buzzing bee,pavlova,hokey pokey ice cream and others.for this week we had  to search  up 4 images and trace it but with poly line instead of using poly line i used curve my images were 

kiwi fruit,pavlova,a Gilbert rugby ball,also hokey pokey ice cream those were the images i could think of that is about Kiwiana.we to search the images up on google at first i was going to do a tiki 

but it was a bit to hard.because we had to out line the inside bits to.the tiki was the only hard image to out line for me everyone had different Kiwiana images i think i had simple images the hardest bit i found about doing the Kiwiana was outlining the images.

and finding the perfect and easy also simple images the one bit i found easy was getting perfect colours and making the google drawings the one thing i enjoyed was getting to know about kiwiana and getting to learn about what Kiwiana is.

So this week we have been learning about saints this week we had to search up a saint and learn about it i choose saint rose saint of beauty .we couldn’t chose the same saint that someone else had so it was hard to find a saint that no-one had . but i found researching for facts about my saint challenging. but i did find learning new things about my saint fun.

This week in writing we were learning about persuasive arguments about selling a toy so someone would be interested in your toy your selling. So when we were doing persuasive writing we had to video  our-self talking about our toy. I enjoyed learning about persuasive writing
